As far as counseling services go, I consider myself a specialist in men’s struggle with pornography and sex addiction, men and women’s recovery from childhood abuse, and getting to the roots of vs. just “managing”, anxiety/depressive disorders.
Addiction problems (whatever the “drug of choice”) are all alike in the root problems but are all treated in different ways depending on the client. --How do you know if you are really a “sex addict”? Or how do you know you are not just over-sexed? Are there signs and symptoms? Does anyone have to know for you to get better if you are an addict? Do you have to attend a 12-step group like AA or Celebrate Recovery, really? These are questions I am routinely asked and the only way to determine the seriousness of any addiction is for me to evaluate you.
I also like to provide relief for those wanting out of bondage/guilt-ridden decision making processes of “Christian”/false beliefs that are not Biblically accurate. My caseload consists as well of probably 50% of married couples.
I received training in a Day Program/Intensive Outpatient setting where I saw clients struggling with everything mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically one can imagine. The only client I will usually refer out is a child or someone not suitable for Outpatient Counseling (such as someone who has become psychotic). I see men and women of various ages.

eCounseling
What IS eCounseling?
So now there’s eCounseling? So there’s coaching, counseling, now online counseling you may be asking? Which one is right for me? eCounseling (Electronic Counseling) is basically counseling via email as for my services. It seems as though everything, including counseling, is passing through the web. Whether you or I like it or not, it is where we are heading in the 21st century. I have found some are more comfortable to talk via email the first time for various reasons. The biggest reason being shame or embarrassment over an issue. This is not the most effective way to do therapy really but often good as a starting point for some. So if you are interested, read on below. The biggest benefit here is help is just an email away! ** Please understand the limitations here and realize I do not provide this as a recommended substitution for face-to-face therapy.
What are advantages of eCounsel?:
· You can write an email to your counselor anytime, 24 hours a day (although you won’t get a reply immediately since we sleep and have a life too!). · No scheduling necessary · It’s cheaper · It is great if you would rather not visit a counselor in your home town · You may just need some quick coaching that can’t wait for an appointment · You don’t have to drive to your appointment and spend gas money · Clients often feel more comfortable, anonymous, and safe during counseling sessions. This helps you be honest and productive · Instead of having 50 minutes to tell your story, you have as much time as you need to write to your counselor · Putting your thoughts in writing often encourages good introspection and mindfulness · When ideas are in writing, you and your counselor can pay close attention to your words and feelings while still engaged in conversation · You are always in control of when you send your email and how you want to articulate thoughts.. · As the counseling process evolves, text of past sessions is proof of your progress toward your goals.
What are the biggest disadvantages of eCounsel?
· Probably the biggest disadvantage is the lack of human contact, which I believe is necessary for true healing to occur ultimately in most counseling situations. But it’s a great place to start if you are initially hesitant to come · There is no sure-way to 100% guarantee privacy although we can do the best we can. There are too many geeky hackers out there that have nothing else better to do! · Written exchanges do not allow one another to see all the non-verbals, which is over 90% of our communication. So if you eCounsel with me, please be clear and HONEST. · Although you may send an email whenever you like, you most often will not get an immediate response. When in a crisis, this is not advantageous! >I am notified on my SAFe-mail account when I have a message, including nights and weekends.
Security & eCounseling
> This is as secure as you want it to be; basically, don’t show your therapy emails to others (have password-protected computer) and you’ll be good! > What about unsecured emails sent? Are they encrypted? Typically no, so I have provided you access to the following link below to learn more about a secure email site:
SAFe-mail.net
>This site will tell you all about how to share secure emails. It is free and takes only a minute (literally) to sign up. It is also required if you want to pursue eCounseling with Daehnert Counseling LLP.
Fees
Confidentiality
>The same confidentiality applies here as it would in normal therapy. In fact, you will have a file as well with your records kept in it. When clients sign up for eCounseling, they will often times eventually come in person to therapy. So the biggest difference with ECounseling compared to face to face therapy is the way in which it is done.

Consulting Services
I am really excited to be offering the following services beginning sometime in Spring ‘08. Make sure you check back and see how we may be able to assist you and/or your organization be more productive and less stressful. Coaching just basically means having an outside, objective party help a client become aware of how good choices generally lead to happier lives with fewer negative consequences. If we could all learn to get along better and be more aware of how our personal issues can affect others as in the workplace negatively, our relationships and the job would be much more enjoyable. People are assets, not liabilities. It is the people that make the company successful, not the product!
Personal life Coaching (on-line or in person) Executive Coaching Leadership Development Church/Corporate Training & Consulting
> These services will include intensive sessions, on-line coaching and video presentations, one-on-one training and speaking engagements.
