Todd Daehnert is a Texas-based LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and has been in private practice for over 23 years now. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Baylor University and a Masters in Counseling at Amberton University.
He worked at HopeWorks Counseling Center, an affiliate of Prestonwood Church for a few years. Prior to that, he was the Director of Paul Meier Clinics in their Day Program in Richardson, TX after working with New Life Ministries. Todd completed his internship program with Dr. Paul Meier and was fortunate enough to speak on various topics with him on the radio (KWRD 100.7 FM). He saw clients struggling with everything mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically one can imagine. The only client he will usually refer out is a child or someone not suitable for Outpatient Counseling (such as someone who has become psychotic). He has served as an adjunct professor in the Psychology Department at DBU as well as worked with PEAK Leadership helping train other professionals provide coaching for their organization. He speaks on various mental health topics with churches, organizations, schools/PTA's as well as leads men's groups and retreats and has over the past 23 years.
Todd has been married over 30 years to his bride Amy. They have an 21-year old son named Blake Andrew at Baylor University studying pre-med and a 18-year old daughter named Hannah Brynn who's a senior at Lovejoy High School and attending University of Arkansas in the fall. They also have two pups-a King Charles Cavalier spaniel named Ryder and a mini Aussie named Koda who are equally apart of this wild bunch. His family attends a Bible Fellowship Church and is very involved. As far as hobbies, he loves to work around the home, play sports as well as watch them with his wife (she’s worse than him!), read, and relax with the family most of all. He tolerates the Dallas Cowboys but loves the Baylor Bears, his Alma mater. Family is the most important aspect of his life which is one of the reasons he owns his own business.
Todd considers himself extremely fortunate to work in a field he loves and considers it a true calling he's had since high school. His clients often ask how he is able to hear what he hears every day and not allow himself to burn out. Although it can be draining at times, his efforts to maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle allows him to teach others how to do the same and not get burned out in a career or family life.
